Wild Life
Here are 2 visitors that stopped by camp.
The first one is a Squirrel, even though it looks like a chipmunk it is not. The strips on a Chipmunk go all the way to the face, on the Squirrel they stop at the neck.
He liked to hang out in the burrow under a rock at our fire pit.

This bug I do not have an ID on yet. He was BIG like at least an inch or more long, he landed on Dave's hat and hung out for about 5 to 10 minutes, then he flew off. He came back about and hour later and landed on the table. He seemed to be looking at everyone looking at him, when he was done looking he left again. Never to be seen again. He was not skittish like many bugs.

That is one nasty bug! Here they are called stink bugs but I do not know the real name. And also here that is a chipmunk and our squirels have tails. But does it really matter? It is so cute! You are so good at the photos. Have a great day.

Nope not a stink bug, (http://images.google.com/images?q=stink%20bug&sourceid=ie7&rls=com.microsoft:en-US&ie=utf8&oe=utf8&sa=N&tab=wi) they have a flat wide body, this guy is more round. This is just a type of squirrel, they look just like chipmunks, except for the stripes stop. They are found in the mountains, and High plains. Here in the valley we have a more traditional squirrel that is about 2 times bigger and Grey or reddish brown.

The bug is a spruce beetle, one of those strange things deforesting the pacific northwest and Alaska. Love your photography, by the way.
