Poppies

Last Year I had one poppy bloom! that was it. I was very disappointed in the out come of the poppy seeds I had put around my flower bed.

Well this year I got again 1 poppy plant but that one plant turned in to a poppy bush! I must have had 100+ blooms on it. It is now fading but It still has a few good blooms to photograph!

The are even pretty in death.

Very cool, especially the second photo showing the dead one in isolation.

Beautiful flower and colors Doris. You do always see the beautiful side of life if that is what your eye is consumed. Always thank you for your kind comments and words.

Wow! I've only seen poppy seeds and never the flower. In fact, I didn't even know they came from flowers. Maybe they aren't. Are these are the same poppies as what they make poppy seed muffins out of? I guess I never thought to look it up. But now that's got me thinking. What about sesame seeds, where do they come from and what do they look like in their natural habitat? Hmmm...
