Levi went back to school today WOOHOOO! and Jesse should be able to go back tomorrow! So not like my kids to miss a full week of school. I usually have to force them to stay home when they don't feel well, so you know it hit them hard!

Now If I'm lucky Dave and I won't get sick!


We had to reschedule My Birthday part from last Sunday to this coming Saturday. We will have a Tri-party

My best friends daughter Zoie's birthday is the 11th. he mom's birthday I think is like the 10 or the 12th can't remember LOL  Any way we will have a big old BBQ for the 3 of us on Saturday.  MMMMMMMMMMMM BBQ I can taste it all now!

So the boys have  been sick this week. Levi is on the mend and is just left with a runny nose.

Jesse on the other hand has been getting worse as the week has gone on.  His Fever has gotten a tad higher each day.  So today when i spiked to 103, I decided it was time to call the doctor and get in. I love my Doctor they run their own urgent care, so you can get in same day, and I don't have to pay for the Higher copay of an urgent care.

Any way.  I make Jesse take some ibuprofen because the temp was so high. He usually avoids taking any meds.
So we are talking a 1 to 1.5 hours drive, My doctor is in the Big City, we live in a suburb. Oh and it is rush hour no less. JOY JOY.

We get there in one peace WOOHOOO no fender bender. This is Construction season in Oregon. Every one has to be first at the lane merge.

We get there about 20 minutes early another WOOOHOOOO.   By the time they see us his temp is NORMAL! yep doesn't it always happen that way?? Your kid is sicker then a dog and you take them in and POOF all better! It still happens even when they are teens!

So they do a strep test just to be 100% sure it is not even thought the Doctor is pretty sure it is not. So Basically we drove for over an hour, and spent $20 to tell me he has a virus LOL I knew that! LOL But I rather waste the time and money to be sure then it develop in to something worse.  I would not have worried if it has not been 5 days already and the temp kept going up.


Rant On!

So we are on our way home and I see this little car in the next lane to us with a lady smoking. No big deal right. Then I notice a child in the back seat, I get PISSED.  I use to smoke and hubby still smokes. We never smoked in the house or the car. I'm ranting and raving to David about this lady smoking in her car with a kid in it.  Then we pull up enough I can see down in to the car and there is an infant in the car, very young infant. Now I'm really upset. I so wanted to get out of my truck and go yell at her! You know it is one thing when the public didn't know how harmful smoking is but with all the info out there, there is NO excuse to smoke in a car with children in it! I have heard in some state they can charge you with child abuse! As much as I hate government getting involved with parenting and our lives in general this is on law I could agree with 100% It is child abuse plain and simple. 


OK I'm stepping off my soap box now! but it really pisses me off!


 

        

So I have been doing Weight watchers for 1 year 9 months.  Part of WW is you are suppose to work out. At first you loose weight just from changing the way you eat, watching your portion sizes and upping your intake of healthy foods.  Then comes a time you need to start working out. 

For medical reasons I can not do high intensity work outs. Last summer I chose walking as my exercise.  First I started out using a tread mill. Can you say BORING! Oh my goodness. You can't even really watch TV while doing it to alleviate the boringness ( is that a real word?)because it is so loud! 

So I decided to start walking around my neighbor hood like the other old ladies Oh wait I'm not an old lady yet.  Me being me didn't bother to stretch and all that good stuff. I ended up with Plantar Fasciitis. I kept at it for a while but decided the pain was just to much to keep on.

Happy to say after ummm months and months of resting my foot I have healed from this rather painful affliction! 

I have come to a point that I really need to ad a work out to my weekly schedule.  J.C. Penny's had the Gazelle Edge on sale for half price.  WOW what a great deal I think to my self. I go and clear the purchase with the Husband.

This item happens to be on back order so after waiting like a month for it to get here. I open it like a child on Christmas morning. WOOHOOO my package is here. 

I take all the peaces out and get the instructions out and read them, look at the parts and look at the instructions again. I can do this! I am Woman Hear me Roar! or something like that LOL OK not really I'm know for using tools and actually know what end of a hammer to use .

It took me about  an hour and half to get it all together! WOOHOOO I'm panting and sweating up a storm! WOW that counts as my work out! It raised my heart rate and I was sweating it has to count as my work out! It just has too!


I fold it up all nice and neat and lean it against the mantle of the fire place.  Then Family came in from out of town, there set my new toy for the nest week ............. or so


I mentioned Sunday I mowed the neighbors lawn. I counted this as a work out as it was very physical and well it was a work out LOL

I decide it is as good as time as any to start my work out this week. We count Sunday so we skip a day and on Tuesday I get up at 7 and get the Gazelle out. I do stretches ( I think I may have learned something after that pain full foot thing!) I do a 5 minutes warm up  thing. I speed up and do ten minutes, don't want to over do it the first day.

I could feel the work out, in the since that I was warm and my breath was a bit heavier but not completely out of breath. WOOHOOO I worked out and it didn't kill me! ( will life never stop to amaze me?) Now I do a 5 minute cool down, then another session of stretching! I feel great jump in the shower and start my day.


At some point last night My calves started to feel my work out.  Why is it our body must wait tell the middle of the night to say HEY YOU! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING????? Yeah  so every 20 minutes or less I'am drawing my toes back toward my knee to stretch and relive the pain that is burning in my calf just below the back of the Knee.


OY! I get up this A.M. and  can hardly walk because my legs are stiff just below the knee.  So know I'm stuck stretching my legs before I get up. 

Today is my day to volunteer at the school, I'm thinking how am I going to make it. I always seem to end up doing a lot of walking when I'm there.

So while I'm thinking about this, I take David to work I discover another soar spot! AHHHHHHHHh my upper thigh right below the hip area LOL it only hurts when I turn or go around a tight curve.  I never realized that you use you upper thighs to stabilize your self when driving I DO NOW!  By now I'm thinking maybe I should just bit the bullet and tell Coach I will be in tomorrow give me another day to rest. NO that won't work because I am going to make my self work out again tomorrow!  So I go in, and to my very pleasant surprise the more I'm up walking around the better my calves feel! OH how much can I do walking around the school???? Not near enough.



Wish me luck tomorrow! LOL  I will get past this! I will make this a habit! But could someone make my body realize it will get better?????

I do have to say the Gazelle is easy to do and very quite compared to ther exercise things. I was able to use it while the family watched the news that am.  Now I will have to invest in the DVD's so i can very my work out.  NO they will not just sit on the shelf and collect dust! Really!!!! Fine don't believe me! LOL

        

Lots going on, but nothing that jumps out at me to blog about so excuse me if I ramble on!

Both boys have Head colds! OY! you think men are babies when they are sick I swear it intensifies when they are teenage males!

Levi pretty much slept the weekend away Jesse was off playing cops and robbers Saturday and off playing with his friends Sunday. No mention of being sick tell today. WHAMMMMMMMM he is irritable and crabby and irritable and crabby did I mention he is irritable???  At least with Levi sleeping so much he is not crabby LOL he just can't hear anything and his words are distorted from the plugged nose.

You know the boys are sick when they call in to miss a Explorer meeting.  Levi even stayed home from school today. Again not something my boys do  very often and 9 times out of 10 I'm the one that says you are not going to school so for him to make the call you know he is feeling pretty crappy!


Yesterday Dave an I Tag teamed the neighbors back yard with lawn Mowers.  Jesse was going to do when he got  home from school today but it was suppose to rain so while she was at work dave and I took it on. It was not quite a jungle yet but getting there LOL  She offered to get us beer. ( every one forgets we don't drink LOL) so I Told her Dave would be happy with a case of Dr. Pepper.  She got him 2, 12 packs.

David asked me Why did you have her get the Dr. Pepper you did most of the work?  I told him 2 reasons. I drink way less pop then him, and if i had her get something I don't like I won't drink it period!  LOL





So Friday I turn 37. Funny I don't feel on the verge of 40.  Heck I don't even feel 37. Not that I really know what that should feel like. But I know that I don't feel I look as old as some women I know that are in their early 40's so that make me feel good even though I do have a few more pounds to take off. But I'm getting There.


Sunday we will have a Birthday BBQ with friends and family. I invited the neighbor ( with the now freshly mowed lawn) she tells me OH to funny I'm having a BBQ on Sunday too LOL I sure hope a bunch of drunk EMT's don't bother you.  She always worries about her parties and I have to say in the 4 and half years we have lived here her parties have never bothered me! She is currently up in WA. looking a new toy a Motorcycle.  Can't wait to see if she gets it LOL  She loves speed so I'm scared! LOL


OH I just texted her, and she got it! Can't wait to see it!




Ok I think i have rambled enough for now. Tomorrow I go in and help do news letters for the Middle school then Wednesday I go in and work for the coach in his calls.  Thrusday I will clean clean clean for the party on Sunday
Friday My mom and I will go to lunch and go shopping for my birthday WOOHOO!

Levi was voted in to the Quarter Master Position ( logistics Sargent) a couple months ago.

One of the Team leaders. ( Sargent) has resigned from the position, The Adult Advisers felt Jesse was the best option. Thursday Jesse was out job hunting, and one of the Deputies saw him and pulled him aside and asked him if he would take the position. Jesse finally said yes.  So know both my boys hold a Sargent's title.




Saturday Jesse spent the day with the Corporal he does most of his ride alongs with. They spent the day with the citizens academy class.  Jesse let him self get Tased with the type of shooting tasers cops use. ( he has two holes in his back LOL)  they let him video tape it but we are not aloud to put it on line   Oh well guess we will just have to have a big old BBQ and invite all the friends and family over to laugh at him! LOL  His Girlfriend let out a bad word when she was tased! LOL now she doesn't want to let her parents see the tape LOL




Dave got the boat running Saturday so he spent the day on the river, he came home with a small mouth bass that was 11 inches long and weighed in at just under a pound!  He was to tired to clean it last night so he stuck it in a bad and put it in the freezer. The damn thing flopped around in there for ever! It was the weirdest thing to hear it flopping around!  Maybe he should had put it out of its misery first!

Friday morning Shannon and Scott dropped the kids off to spend the weekend with us. After we got everything settled, the little ones and I dropped Dave of at work and started our day of running.

Saturday am we get up and get everyone ready and head out the door to our April GTG with the Truck club. We headed out and met up with a couple of the guys, then headed out again to meet up with another.  We did a bit of playing on the freeway.  One of us got up 110, one of use up to 90, and Not sure what the other got up to he didn't tell us LOL and NO it was not me that got up to 110 LOL. 

After Meeting up with everyone, we headed on down south to Eugen to the members house that was hosting.  Dave cooked burgers, hot dogs and chedderwurst. We all pigged out.  we ended up with 5 trucks and 2 Corvette LOL

That afternoon we headed even further south to my dad and step moms house.  We stayed the night, Sunday am we went for breakfast then on to pick up a King size water bed frame with a regular king size mattress. Took for ever to get it all loaded.  We ended up running about an hour late for our next stop.

We stopped at my Cousin Mike and Ro's house.  Aunt Jennet and Uncle Mike where there waiting for us. We visited for a bit while the little ones played with Mike and Ro's daughter Jasmin.

OH and no pictures from me! I lost my memory card for my camera.  ok I think one of the cats took it and stashed it somewhere LOL) So all the photo's i have are from one of the other truck club members! I was so bummed! Not one single photo of the little ones from the whole trip!

Poor Zoie after we got home, she was running around out side to get some pent up energy out and she was over on the far side of the truck so Dave told her she has to come back to the yard side so we could see her and she tripped over her own feet and landed face first on the drive way!  She scrapped up her nose pretty good, made her gums bleed above her front top teeth, and scraped up her very new glasses!  Shannon was on her way to get the kids so I called her and said I want to warn you before you get here!  poor baby made it threw the whole weekend with no issues then minutes before mom gets here she does a face plant!  She got some nice road rash!

Our Sheriffs office has a citizen academy a few times a year. The Citizens get to learn about how things work and how they are done tour the S.O. and other assorted goodies.

The Explorer post gives a Repelling demonstration during each of these academies. This was last nights.

Now that I have  your attention! LOL

Yep the cops where shooting at my boys! The boys are participating in a training session during all of spring break.

They are doing school shooting training. The boys are playing victims. The trainers are playing the bad guys. They use Live rounds filled with paint instead of a slug.

They get to wear special vest to protect them if they are ones to be shot.  So no bruising, unlike when they go out and play with their friends with air soft or paint balls! 

I figure this is good training for them too, not only do they get to help the police train for some very serious situations, they also learn how they should act if something like this should happen. I find it sad that we even have to have this sort of training, but I rather have everyone well trained then not have a clue like the first few times something like this happened.

Last night after training, we rushed home, then out to the Sheriff's office for their by  monthly meeting. They had a guest speaker. An Evidence specialist from the FBI (basically CSI) He talked about how they did things, and how wrong The TV shows are LOL

Friday they will be going on an evidence search.  I tell yeah NO vacation for this mom during spring break!

I keep telling people my boys don't do sports but we are on the go just as much if not more! LOL
